Event Announcement | Human Rights Lecture: The Shadow of Justice
📢【Human Rights Lecture】
The Shadow of Justice - Seeing Another Side of the Judiciary through the Su Chien-ho Case (Su Chien-ho himself at NDHU)
Have you heard of Su Chien-ho?
The Su Chien-ho case is the first in Taiwan's judicial history where a death sentence was overturned and changed to a not-guilty verdict.
Through this lecture, we hope to help everyone view the justice system from different angles, understand major human rights violations that happened during investigation and trial, and rethink the importance of “due process” and “presumption of innocence.”
This is not just a legal issue—it's a deeper topic about civil society and human rights protection.
We are honored to have Mr. Su Chien-ho with us to share his personal story, offering the perspective of someone wrongfully convicted and why judicial reform remains necessary.
We hope this lecture brings you new insights and helps us all reflect on the seen and unseen stories behind the justice system.
